Darlene, from the Bowmanville Memorial Hospital foundation, was on hand to give the club an update on their current projects.

The foundation would like to thank the club and it's members for the on going show of support for the foundation. As well, all the money donated to the foundation stays at Bowmanville Hospital and does not get distributed throughout the Lakeridge Health Network.

The largest project, which is the revamping of the ER department, is still in the hands of the Ministry of Health, who has to put okay on the project. The ER project is getting closer to getting started now that the Whitby site is closer to being re-opened. This will move Bowmanville closer to the top of the list.

Once Whitby re-opens Bowmanville will be able to move 26 patients back to that site and free up more space in the hospital for new admissions.

The Hospital has got the go ahead to begin the renovations to the mammography department. This means that the mammography department will be able to go digital. Things are business as usual at the department even with the downturn in the economy.

At the end of Darlene's visit the Rotary Club presented her with a check for $12,500.

Ace of Hearts 50/50 Draw

The draw this week was for "Big Money"- Angie. Al Strike pulled the 6 of Spades, better luck next time!!!
