Guidelines for Requesting Rotary Funding

Introduction

The following guidelines will assist you in submitting an application to The Rotary Club of Bowmanville for funding for either an individual or an organization.

But first, it may be helpful to know a little bit about Rotary.  Rotary is an international service organization, approximately 1.2 million persons strong, whose primary objective is service – in the community, in the workplace, and around the globe.  Our mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.  All monies raised through our fundraising events are returned to our local or global community through our charitable work.

Thank you in advance for your submission.  Please email your request as an attachment to Lynda Mayes, Secretary, Rotary Club of Bowmanville at <connmay@rogers.com>.  It will be directed to the appropriate committee for consideration and you will be contacted with their decision.

Submission Guidelines

There is no form to complete but we would like to know about you and/or your organization to help us in our decision making process.  Please consider the following questions but do not feel limited by them in making your submission.  Provide whatever information you believe to be pertinent to your request.

What is the name of the individual and/or organization requesting funding?  Please provide all relevant contact information including telephone numbers and email addresses.

If the request is being made by an organization, what are the mission statement and objectives of the organization?  Does the organization have charitable status?

What is the purpose for which the funding is being requested?  Please consider the following items:

  • Is the activity/project a one-off project or an on-going one?
  • If the activity/project is on-going, will it be sustainable?  How will sustainability be ensured?
  • What is the total cost of the activity/project?
  • What would be the impact on the activity/project if The Rotary Club of Bowmanville was not able to provide funding?

What dollar level of funding is being requested from the Rotary Club of Bowmanville?  Is this request intended to be the only source of funding for this activity/project or are other sources of funding also being sought?  If other sources are being approached for funding, what portion of the total funding being sought is being requested from Rotary?

How will the activity/project positively impact the individual and/or our local or global community?

Thank you,
The Rotary Club of Bowmanville
