For the last three years the Rotary Club of Bowmanville has
had a very unique partnership with the Matawa First Nations Education
Department to oversee an annual local bursary program. Headquartered in Thunder
Bay, the department's territory covers ten (10) First Nations Communities, five
(5) of which are remote fly-in commuities. Staff of the Matawa Education
department has determined the criteria to be used in making the awards and
bursaries for students to encourage them to further their education.
Interestingly, they range from Elementary (class and individual), Secondary and
Post Secondary individual awards. |
