The Orono Town Hall was built in 1898 and is one of Clarington's unique and beautiful heritage buildings. Unfortunately, access for disabled persons is an issue and to correct this deficiency the Orono Town Hall Board of Management, with assistance from the Municipality of Clarington, is working toward installing an elevator. Some of the funds must be raised within the community and the Bowmanville Rotary Club was delighted to be able to donate $5,000 toward the project.
