The Charles H. Best Diabetes Centre is a facility unlike any other in Canada or, for that matter, in the world. Founded in 1989 by Marlene Grass, the mission of The Best is "to keep our children, youth, and adults living with type 1 diabetes healthy until a cure is found".
Over the years the Charles H. Best Diabetes Centre has grown to serve more and more people necessitating several moves. And once again, The Best finds itself wanting for space and has embarked on a fundraising program to expand its facility. The Rotary Club of Bowmanville is pleased to donate $15,000 to the Building on the Best campaign. In recognition of our donation, the Bowmanville Rotary Club is delighted that one of the children's play centres in the new facility will be named for the Club.
