The Bowmanville Rotary Club's Youth Service Committee presented a $500 cheque to PFLAG beside the Rainbow crosswalk at John M. James Public School on Mearns Ave. Our club was one of the original sponsors of the crosswalk which was a grassroots initiative of PFLAG and others in the community that was installed last spring. The funding is earmarked for the organization's Camp Rainbow Phoenix, a residential-style summer leadership program for youth ages 13 to 17. PFLAG supports LGBTQ people and their families.
